Leopold von Andrian
After briefly analysing the lyrical production of Leopold von Andrian (1875-1951), highlighting its affinities with that of his best-known friend from his youth, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, the monograph focuses on the analysis of the Austrian writer's only short story, The Garden of Knowledge (1895). After a promising start as a writer of verse and storyteller, Andrian - nephew of the musician Giacomo Meyerbeer - devoted himself to a diplomatic career, composing works of a historical-philosophical nature in his maturity, which, however, remained a dead letter.

Hugo von Hofmannsthal. Il libro degli amici?
Taking up - but with the addition of a question mark - the title of the collection of aphorisms by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, The Book of Friends, the volume illustrates a series
of relations that the Viennese poet had with some of his more or less famous contemporaries. less famous contemporaries. These relationships were all marked by moments of tension and which therefore legitimise the doubt, expressed in the title, that these were real friendships.

Studien zur österreichischen Literatur von Nestroy bis Ransmayr
This volume offers studies on representative authors from 150 years of Austrian literary history. It begins with contributions on plays by the playwright Johann Nestroy, born in Vienna in 1801, and deals with specific problems relating to the translation of the Austrian's popular plays into Italian. Also included are studies on Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Rainer Maria Rilke, Stefan Zweig, Franz Werfel, Elias Canetti, Thomas Bernhard, Franz Innerhofer and the early prose works of Christoph Ransmayr. All of the essays are comparative in nature and focus, among other things, on the reception of the writers covered in Italy. The volume also discusses questions of theatre history and contains unpublished source material.
